NEWSPAPER NOWADAYS

Every day people buy newspapers but, is it useful? is it necessary? In my opinion it is one of the best ways of communication nowadays.

To start with, it is a lot more comfortable to read newspaper than read news from the internet as you can read it while you are on the bus or in the car because you can take it everywhere.

What is more, the newspaper is not expensive because it has a lot of pages and there are different topics to read.

Apart from this, all the current news and topics to be developed appear on the first page and if you want to read one topic in particular you can go there and find it. Futhermore, you can read all different view points if every topic.

As opposed to the above ideas, some people argue that the internet can be faster and more comfortable for some, but it can also bring halth problem such as backache or problem with your eyesight.Besides, the newspaper is an old form to get information so everybody understands it.

To sum up, the newspaper is the best way to keep informed and it is simple, understandable and healthy.

Television is a good educator

 

These days almost everyone spends at least two hours watching television, so much so that it has become a part of our lives. But in my opinion TV is good as an informer or an entertainer, not as an educator.

 

In the first place, you never know if what you have seen is true or it has been invented, so you can only trust in the guilty of the program, so it is not the same to watch Discovery channel or to watch a movie.

 

Apart from this, I strongly believe that you can not learn from watching TV, as it is not the same as going to school, for example you are not able to ask questions or do homework, or specially have a discussion with the professor.

 

It is argued that there are some programmees which offer a kind of learning, such as History Channel, Discovery Channel or Animal Planet, but there are a lot of programmes which give the wrong idea of how things are.

 

In conclusion, I think that even though some programmes are educational, it is impossible to change the education that school brings

"Everybody should carry around a gun"

Violence: an everyday problem. Everybody is afraid of going out alone or even in groups, because you don't know what's waiting for you around the corner. Thieves, murderes, streets are not a safe place any longer. But, should we carry guns just because of that? In my opinion, this will only make things worse. People are crazy and carrying a gun will make streets a complete disaster.
To start with, we can see people fighting or arguing every day, for many reasons: car crash, money, politics and more. And we all know that things can get really dangerous any minute. In my view, carrying a gun could be extremly dangerous because people can lose control easily, making disasters or killing innocent persons for things that do not really matter or that are not bad enough to kill somebody.
What is more, thieves would become more violent because common people will have guns but violent acts won't stop. I think they could get worse than ever. And what for? Death would be at the order of the day and streets would be a chaos. Is that something worth fighting for? And how can anyone tell me for sure that guns will save us all? I believe it's a risk and I don't think that it's the best way to make things better.
On the other hand, some people say that carrying a gun around will be much better because they'll be able to protect themselves if someone tries to hurt them. Indeed, this is a really good reason and I agree, because as many say, it would be awesome if we could do something while thieves are robbering us or murdering someone. But, how can anybody assure me that the whole population is going to be responsible with guns? Can we say for sure that they are only going to use them with bad people and not between them? That they won't use them for anything else than self-defense? No, nobody can possibly know that so guns are not sure at all. Actually, people are very umpredictable and easily lose control of their emotions or their minds. For example, those boys who go to school with guns and kill many classmates. Is that okay? Not at all. And we don't know if things like that won't be in newspapers everyday if everyone is allowed to carry a gun.
Taking everything into account, I believe that carrying guns is a real danger and nobody should carry them. I don't think that having one is a crime at all, the problem is how they use them. There are people who love this kind of weapons and enjoy using them for practices and spotts, but most of them know that guns are not toys and that they have to know how to use them.

"Television is a good educator"

Is television a good way to transmit education? it could be the best communicator to inform and show how the world is going on, but in my opinion people should be more careful about what they are watching or what they think they are learning from it. I strongly believe that people are wrong when they affirm that television educates.
First of all, the channels that used to be educational were degraded by advertisements. for example, some channels like Vh1, which is a music programme, used to show people educational things about the history of rock and popular music. But now it is full of reality shows and that degrades the thoughts of the people.
Furthermore, television programmes that show the news of the world, most of the time lie or do not tell all the truth, in particular the programmes that have an agreement with the government.
Apart from this, people are more involved in watching television than reading the newspaper which apart from educating, improves the reading. Moreover people do not watch interesting channels that could be educationals like National Geographic, most people watch reality shows or entertaining programmes such as Showmatch, Susana Gimenez or others.
It is argued that television is not good or bad, it depends on how people use it. But they forget that excessive television viewing has been blamed for increasing aggressive behavior in children since their parents do not tell them what to wathc, what is right and what is wrong.
Taking everything into account, I have to say that people who say that they learn things from television are wrong. television is just to spend leisure time, watching movies, the news or maybe an interesting channel about art, music or it could be history, but it is not to be educated.
